Level I (Tier I) IT Technical Engineer

The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all support requests by telephone, email, or chat in a personable and friendly manner with clients.  Stellar Customer Service is a top priority for our company, and we strive to provide the best and most friendly service in the area.

As a member of our service team, you will handle troubleshooting and maintenance, and support a team of technicians. You will need to be prepared to diagnose and troubleshoot service requests, and maintain all processes/procedure documentation.

The work environment is fast paced and demanding but provides a great opportunity for exposure to many leading technologies and the ability to promote to a higher level within the company.

This position reports directly to the Client Services Manager, and works closely with COO, CTO, Technical team, Project Director and Dispatch.

You should:

  • Be well versed in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems.
  • Be able to provide input on projects and assignments.
  • Have energy and the desire to work in a fast-growing company that presents new challenges every day with hardware, software, and other diverse technology.
  • Be a motivated, organized person with a positive attitude and an innovative spirit.
  • Exhibit a willingness to learn and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Be able to speak to end users in non-technical terms (no geek speak).

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Respond to service calls promptly
  • Troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively
  • Always provide an exceptional customer service experience
  • Provide end to end desktop and network support for our clients
  • Carefully and completely document work
  • Prioritize daily tasks and achieve due dates
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with all staff members, including the Project team

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • 1 year experience in Information Technology
  • Active Directory administration experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, and 2022 (preferred)
  • Desktop support for Microsoft Windows 7, 10, and 11
  • Experience with Hyper-V (preferred)
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of IT related issues in a business network environment (Including, but not limited to, Microsoft Windows Server & Desktop OS, Microsoft Office & Office 365, Network, VOIP, Internet issues, Peripherals, equipment at client locations)
  • Special consideration will be given to applicants with technical certifications

Job Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s license with good driving record
  • Able to pass a background check
  • US Work Authorization required
  • Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours
  • Ability to lift standard computer equipment (PCs, Printers, etc)

Level II (Tier II) IT Technical Engineer

As a member of our service team, you will need to be prepared to diagnose and troubleshoot service requests that Level 1 technicians have escalated, deploy and manage a small business network infrastructure, train other service team members, and maintain all processes/procedure documentation.

This position reports directly to the Client Services Manager, and works closely with COO, CTO, Technical team, Project Director and Dispatch.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION & DUTIES OF THE JOB:

  • Configuration and installation of switches, servers, firewalls, APs.
  • Provide support to tickets escalated from Level 1.
  • Provide support and management of various compliance requirements for clients i.e., SLED, PCI.
  • Install desktop machines from scratch as in Level 1, but with full migration from older machine to new machine. To include backup set up and restoring of appropriate data stored locally.
  • Configure and troubleshoot VLAN ports on switches as required.
  • Adding, removing, or editing firewall rules as required.
  • Management of existing digital communications (VoIP) systems.
  • Strong knowledge of configuring servers on a virtual host environment with VMware or Hyper-V including knowledge of allocating resources to virtual machines and maintaining Active Directory.
  • Strong Office 365 administration skills.
  • Basic PowerShell scripting for issues not able to be resolved through GUI.
  • Configure network shares with appropriate permissions, scan-to-folder, and email.
  • On-site support should the need arise.
  • Internal: be organized with work, inventory management, support ticket tracking and adding time and log of tickets completed.

 

SKILLS FOR THE JOB:

  • Associate degree and/or 3-5 years’ experience in IT industry.
  • Certifications REQUIRED: A+. Preferred: MCP, Network+, Security+, 3CX, Firewall
  • Speak to end users in non-technical terms (no geek speak).
  • Prioritize daily tasks and achieve due dates.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
  • Ability to take on-call after hours, after training period is over.
  • Ability to lift standard computer equipment (i.e., PC’s and Printers).
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized office workspace.
  • Handle workload independently.

Project Engineer

The ideal candidate will be a valuable member of the Project Team, working with the Project Director to complete tasks in a timely manner.  Projects may include onboarding of new clients and other assignments such as major hardware/software installs.  Stellar Customer Service is a top priority for our company, and we strive to provide the best and most friendly service in the area.

As a member of our Project team, you will need to be prepared to configure and deploy network equipment, servers, firewalls, and PCs; and maintain all processes/procedure documentation.  The job is 50% in-house, 50% on-site with clients.

The work environment is fast paced and demanding but provides a great opportunity for exposure to many leading technologies and the ability to promote to higher levels within the company.

This position reports directly to the Project Director, and works closely with COO, CTO, Client Services Manager, Technical team, Director of Experience, and Dispatch.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION & DUTIES OF THE JOB (include, but not limited to):

  • Configuration and installation of hardware and software (network equipment, servers, firewalls, PCs, other peripherals, line of business software).
  • Work with Project Director to schedule and perform onboarding of services to new clients.
  • Provide support to projects escalated from the Support Desk.
  • VoIP configurations for new clients, managing current VoIP clients (as requested).
  • Configure and troubleshoot VLAN ports on switches as required.
  • Management of DNS and Active Directory configurations.
  • Strong knowledge of configuring servers (virtual or physical); with VMware or Hyper-V including knowledge of resourcing, allocating more disc space and RAM to appropriate servers.
  • Strong Office 365 administration skills.
  • Basic PowerShell scripting for issues not able to be resolved through GUI.
  • Assist in security software installation and management.
  • Configure network shares with appropriate permissions, scan-to-folder, and email.
  • Internal: be organized with work, inventory management, project ticket tracking and adding time and log of projects completed.
